These options are explained in full in the 'Guide to Applications for Registration for Farriers from Other European States'.
However, in brief, under Procedure B within the Guide, a European farrier can apply for registration on the basis of a qualification achieved in their home country but if the qualification is not comparable to the Council's standard, as outlined above, then the applicant must undertake compensation measures. This would either be a period of adaptation (a short apprenticeship with an Approved Training Farrier (ATF)) or a test of competence (the DipWCF Examination). You can either apply on line at European Farriery Qualifications or by printing and completing the attached application form below.
Procedure C details the criteria for application with a Certificate of Experience which would enable a farrier to gain registration on the basis of at least 6 years professional experience or a combination of training and/or experience. Certificates must be issued by an appropriate competent authority in the EEA state in which the farrier has practiced.
