Award of post-nominal letters by The Worshipful Company of Farriers

The Council has been made aware that between September 2023 and June 2025 those successfully completing the End Point Assessment have received a document from the WCF stating that they have been awarded post nominal letters DipWCF.

The WCF has confirmed to the Council that:

• ^{The document does not certify the passing of an examination or assessment}
• ^{The document does not certify the award of a qualification}
• ^{The document has been issued on the basis that an individual has successfully completed the Farriery End Point Assessment (EPA) and been awarded the post nominals Qualified to Farrier Standard (QFS); neither completion of the EPA nor the award of QFS are linked in any way to the WCF}
• ^{Documents have not been issued to any unregistered person}

Each individual receiving such a document was also sent an explanatory letter making clear the terms by which they were sent the document, a copy of this letter is set out below for clarity.  The letter confirms that the former DipWCF qualification is no longer subject to regulation.  Noting that the award of these post nominals does not certify the passing of an examination or assessment, nor the award of a qualification they are not recognised by the regulator.
