Approved Training Farriers (ATFs)

The FRC holds a central list of Registered Farriers that are qualified to employ apprentices (Approved Training Farriers or ATFs).  To be on the list farriers have to meet the minimum technical qualifications as set down by the FRC and the educational requirements laid down by the Colleges.

All ATFs are expected to undertake a minimum amount of CPD each year (10 points) and the Colleges will provide compulsory annual educational training courses for all ATFs.

Listing as an ATF is dependent on at least one Training Provider (or College) being prepared to work with the ATF.

Removal from the list may also be triggered for grounds relating to professional conduct and payment of relevant fees.
