FARRIERS (REGISTRATION) ACT 2017 - Royal Assent Granted
The draft Farriers (Registration) Bill 2016-17 completed its Third Reading in the House of Lords yesterday. The FRC is now able to confirm that Royal Assent was granted yesterday evening during the ceremony for the prorogation of Parliament.
It follows that the draft Farriers (Registration) Bill 2016-17 has culminated; regulation of farriery in GB is now subject to The Farriers (Registration) Act 2017 which supersedes the 1975 version of the Act, the 1977 amendment plus other sundry amendments that have been made in the intervening 40 years.
The Act will be published on the Parliamentary website in due course, some 22 Acts of Parliament were made yesterday so it might take a few days to appear, notwithstanding the holiday weekend.
The FRC shall, in due course, address the implementation of the various strands of the Bill.
